We recently noticed that the widely used eGFP sequence may produce an unintended protein using certain construct designs. While the discovery itself is trivial, it sounded an alarm for more important biomedical constructs, such as those used in gene therapies, and this study will be a primer for a bigger effort where we employ the same pipeline to screen the clinically relevant constructs.
